Yale Blue Green (NYC) - Yale Alumni in Sustainability

Yale Blue Green (NYC) - Yale Alumni in Sustainability
Date:
Tue, 06/27/2017 - 6:30pm - 7:30pm

Join us on June 27 for the next in our YBG-NYC talk series “Yale Alumni in Sustainability.” David Bergman, YC '78, and Ben Rosenblum, Arch '04, will present their work in creating NYC’s first 2030 District.

The national 2030 Districts program is a nonprofit organization, launched by the Architecture 2030 project, that works at a local level toward dramatic reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from buildings and cities. The NYC 2030 District goals are to “demystify and navigate” the complex web of city, state, federal and other policies, programs and services by creating an information hub so that stakeholders (businesses, institutions, property owners, community organizations and professionals) can more easily access and utilize them. The district will also enable stakeholders to share information and data, aggregate purchases for costs efficiency, and foster collaboration. The first district, encompassing Downtown Brooklyn, will become a living urban laboratory to address sustainability and resilience for future districts and for the city as a whole.
