1967 - 50th Reunion (June 1-4, 2017)

50th Reunion June 1 – 4, 2017

Dear Classmates and Friends,
The 50th Reunion of the Yale Class of 1967 is at hand. Our gathering opens Thursday, June 1, and concludes Sunday, June 4. You know you will want to be there. Already, more than 500 of our classmates have written essays for our Class Book, which will be distributed in April. Over 200 have already indicated that they are coming. Please join them and encourage your friends to come. Now is the time to register.

Many have been working to make these four days memorable and fun. Our reunion headquarters in Davenport College will be open at 1 pm on Thursday for check-in. Thursday afternoon at 3 pm a classmate panel will describe some special life experiences, followed by a unique welcome cocktail party at the brand new Benjamin Franklin College on Prospect Street, which is in the final throes of completion. See how the new Yalies will live.

There will be Yale faculty lectures on Friday and Saturday mornings. Our specific class activities generally convene in the afternoon. On Friday afternoon, you will not want to miss our Memorial Service at Battell and the Class Dinner at Commons, followed by a concert by our own Whiffenpoofs. You will hear from President Salovey, recall Kingman Brewster by a special look-back on him and his time, and enjoy meals and receptions with classmates and friends at Davenport, at the Yale Art Gallery, and at Beinecke Plaza (where you can take a side trip to visit the display of ’67 authors at Sterling Memorial Library).

There will be plenty of time to visit with friends and renew acquaintances, especially under our reunion tent in Davenport. (The 50th Reunion Class Book, arriving in April, will enable you to catch up on those friends.)  When we began in 1963, it would have been hard to imagine where our lives might have led. Two sessions of classmate presentations will provide some examples. You won’t want to miss John Mauceri’s talk on Broadway music, “From Gershwin to Hamilton.” So review our reunion schedule, and please register now.

For those who are interested in tee times at the Yale Golf Course during the reunion weekend, please call Peter Pulaski at (203) 392-2301 to secure those times.

The full package fee for the Reunion is $425 per person (excluding housing). Lower partial fees are also available. Please remember that reunion fees and campus housing charges are waived for surviving spouses. Financial aid is available for classmates. To discuss financial aid in total confidence, please contact our AYA liaison, Jennifer Julier (jennifer.julier@yale.edu or 203 436-8014).

“Where’er upon life’s sea we sail[ed],” that voyage led us this spring to this Reunion. See you at the 50th.
